To Wait for A Knight

In the darkness, I wished to be saved
A shining knight to come to my aid
In this maze, I met a false knight
Believing him, I let him lead me into the light

The dark had faded and so I found my prince
I was blinded by love's trance ever since
In the light, the shadow's again took ahold of me
This knight was never my prince to be

Under his helmet was unforgivable lies
To the false knight, I said good-bye
Stranded in the darkness once more
I waited for that true knight to open the door

Remembering words of lies the false knight told
Created unknown feelings that began to unfold
Anger and power began to rush through
These emotions, I changed into something new

In the darkness I will no longer wait
For a knight to come and set my fate
A knight's helmet is just another mask
To hide his lies and reveal his false task

This darkness that used to burn
Created a lesson I had to learn
To be saved you must get stronger
Now I will not wait to be saved any longer
