Letter To My Past

This is a letter to my past
Telling myself all shall become clear
Do not dwell if the presant memories will last
For there will be new memories, do not fear

Wipe away those hidden tears deep within
Hold on to your dreams, they'll become real
Trust me, that is where I have before been
I promise you, happiness you shall feel

Do not worry if you'll find love's embrace
Forget that emptyness clinging inside of you
There will be hard choices you must face
These choices will present emotions that are new

Fear not these emotions, hold them close
For there is a feeling far worse known as numb
It will take over, making everything else become a ghost
Even the happiness you desire will only become a crumb

Ignore the weakness running through your veins
You will gain a strength that will carry you far
The strength, a self-promise, that erases all the pain
Keeping your promise, will heal a hidden scar

But never worry about the furture, dear me
For I can tell you, you will grow up well
Listen to both your heart and mind, you shall see
Everything will work out fine, do not dwell

Dear myself, I must end this letter
I have told you what needed to be said
Whatever happens, for worse or for better
Keep your head up high and stare ahead
